Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is seeking a Pizza Cook 1. This team member will help lead our team in the use of our specialty oven and pizza offerings, including maintaining the fire, heat, and cooking of pizzas in the oven with an average temperature of 750 degrees

Salary for this position starts at (based on experience): $23.00/hour. Full Time Associates at Omni Viking Lakes are entitled to elect the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and other healthcare benefits, Paid Maternity Leave, 401k and Paid Time Off Accrual. Essential Job Functions:

Lead in the operations and training of our specialty oven

Prepare pizzas out of our menu and based on custom orders

Maintain the fire and 750-degree heat of our specialty oven

Bake a wide variety of pizza doughs

Make fresh tomato, pesto and white cream sauces

Wash and chop vegetables (for example, tomatoes, peppers, onions and mushrooms)

Cut, slice and grill meats like chicken, ham and beef

Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed

Use less traditional ingredients to appeal to a larger audience (for example, vegan cheese and gluten-free flour)

Cook appetizers, like mozzarella sticks, pizza bites, garlic breads and salads

Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment

Qualifications:

Several years of work experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role in a restaurant

Previous supervisorial experience required

Hands-on experience with preparing and baking pizza doughs

Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and brick or stone oven

Understanding of food hygiene

Good time-management skills

Team spirit

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings

Diploma from a culinary school is a plus

Must have and maintain Food Handler's permit

Ability to stand for entire shift

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight.

Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending and twisting.

Must be able to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.).

Working Environment:

Interior of hotel in restaurant and kitchen areas with exposure to humidity, steam and extreme temperatures.

Exposure to hazardous cleaning chemicals.

Tools & Equipment:

Cooking utensils and equipment.
