This Privacy Policy for Hcareers is meant to provide you a description of our practices regarding the collection, use, sharing, retention and disclosure of your information in connection with our parent entity, VHI Holdings, Inc., and subsidiaries and affiliates acting on our behalf (collectively, "VHI") and DBA Hcareers. A. The information we gatherWe gather two (2) types of information about you:
Non-personally identifiable information (information that does not identify a specific individual): When visitors use the Services, we collect and aggregate information indicating, among other things, which pages were visited, the order in which they were visited, and which links were "clicked." Collecting such information involves the collection and logging of IP addresses, operating system, and browser software used by each user of the Services. Although such information cannot be linked to a specific person’s information or identity, we can determine from the IP address a visitor's Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of his or her point of connectivity. This deidentified information we collect helps us determine the most popular areas of the Site and determine the effectiveness of our promotional activities. In this way, we use Tracking Technologies. For more information, read the information under “Tracking Technologies” in section D below.
In addition, we may disclose some of this deidentified information to advertisers to inform them of the number of people who have seen and/or clicked through their advertisements. We collect this deidentified or non-personally identifiable information in part through the use of "cookies." For more information, read the information under "Cookies" in section D below.
On mobile applications, we use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our Services on your phone. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregate usage, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from. We do not link the information we store within the analytics software with any persona information.
On desktop and mobile devices that support browser push notifications, you may opt-into or consent to receiving push notifications sent to your device. You may opt-out of these, at the device level, at any time.
Personal information: In certain areas of the Site, such as those in which you complete a profile, complete an assessment, submit your resume, create a new account, or enter Hcareers-sponsored contests or promotions, we may request that you provide us with certain personal information, such as your e-mail address, name, postal code, mobile number, professional skills and experiences, profession, or work experience. We will, in such situations, seek to identify which informational items are required and which are optional. In some instances, we may collect geolocation data for the purpose of helping identify jobs in your area. We may opt to share this information for the sole purpose of our providing you this feature. You may opt-out of location-based services by editing the setting at the device level.
Job seekers should post profiles and resumes on our Site only if they wish such information to be viewed by our clients. When a candidate search is conducted, candidates will be able to control at their option whether their profile states that they are open to new career opportunities or prefer not to be contacted by employers.
In the past, job seekers may have elected to make their profile searchable by our clients on a confidential basis only. Hcareers no longer offers this feature for job seekers, but for those job seekers who had previously registered on this basis, the user's name and contact information will not be displayed to clients performing searches on the Website. If the client desires to contact the confidential job seeker regarding an employment opportunity, they will send an email to the job seeker through our system. We will forward the email to the seeker's email address. The seeker's email address will not be provided directly to the client. When posting a resume confidentially, it is the job seeker's responsibility to ensure that their contact information is not included within their resume attachment.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Though we take commercially reasonable steps to protect the access and use of personal information, no system is perfect, and we cannot control the acts of users of the Services in all circumstances. You should be aware that, when you disclose personal information in a resume, profile or other medium, the information may be collected and used by others to send you communications, possibly by electronic mail. These communications are from other parties outside Hcareers. In the event that you encounter any Hcareers user who you believe is improperly collecting or using information about you or other users, please contact: customersuccess@hcareers.com.
If you apply on an external applicant tracking system that has an integration with Hcareers, you may be asked if you agree to share your information with Hcareers. In this scenario, if you provide your express consent for this sharing, Hcareers will receive your personal information and resume from the external applicant tracking system. You will be prompted to activate your account at which point your information will be collected in the Hcareers system and maintained and used as explained herein.
Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the different ways we use the information we gather or that you provide to us. Hcareers may use and process information about you, including personal information for one or more of the legitimate business purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We also take reasonable steps to ensure that our third-party providers, including advertisers, adhere to our policies regarding the privacy of our visitors and users and to otherwise handle personal information in a responsible manner. How we use personal information: We may use the personal information you provide to us for the following purposes related to Hcareers business:
Please do your part to help us keep your information private and secure. Usernames, identifications ("IDs"), and email addresses (as well as any additional information that you may choose to post) may be publicly available on the Site when another user or you voluntarily and publicly disclose personal information, such as when using features to send a message to another user, or as part of a message posted to a public forum or a publicly released software application. You may not be able to change or remove public postings once posted. Such personal information may be used by visitors of these pages to send messages. You are responsible for the privacy and confidentiality of your username and other account information for all activities on our Site. Hcareers specifically reserves the right to terminate access to an account or the Site if it learns or suspects an unauthorized disclosure of contact information. Hcareers is not responsible for any consequences which may occur from the use of personal information that you choose to submit to public pages.
Hcareers has created user surveys to better support the services we provide on our platform. If you participate and agree that we can make your responses public, you will be notified at the time you take the survey. Hcareers will disclose only aggregate information regarding its users, i.e., deidentified information that does not identify any specific individual.
If we publicly disclose such aggregate information we would do so with your permission. We only share the survey results with advertisers for analysis of user preferences and/or demographics and to publicize overall usage data in press communications. Where surveys allow users to submit written comments, Hcareers will advise you of the possibility of such disclosure at the time they take the survey and will disclose the information provided by you for the specific reasons explained and without personal information identifying you. Participation in surveys is at your discretion; Hcareers does not conduct mandatory surveys.
Subject to the foregoing, Hcareers uses your personal information to fulfill our business purposes, to meet the needs for which you provide the information to us, or to comply with our legal obligations. Hcareers may share your personal information with service providers to help us with our business activities such as processing credit cards, email and social network marketing, offering customer service, or operating a community forum. These service providers are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.
With respect to job applications, Hcareers will not disclose your profile or resume on our Site to prospective employers without your express consent or to carry out your explicit instructions.
If you "opt in" to receive promotional materials from third parties, information you have made available to us may be made available to third parties who provide goods or services that are separate from ours. You may "opt out" of receiving such materials at any time by: clicking the “opt-out” button on the homepage of this site; using the "opt-out" link included in each email; changing your subscriptions preferences on the "user settings" page in your Hcareers account; or, directly contacting us at: customersuccess@hcareers.com If you have provided more than one email address, you may continue to be contacted, unless you request to unsubscribe each email address you have provided. If you opted in to receive information directly from third parties, then you must contact those third parties directly to opt-out.
In addition, Hcareers may share aggregate information collected from visitors of the Site with entities that are part of the Hcareers group and other third parties. This aggregate information is used in a deidentified manner, and no single person can be identified by such aggregated information.
We may share your personal information with third party consultants and business partners, including, but not limited to, recruiters or lead generation companies (collectively "Third Party Contractors") so they can collect, compile, organize, and market to you regarding related opportunities and services, unless you have expressly opted out of this exchange of information.
Hcareers has entered into contracts with these Third-Party Contractors that require personal information be kept confidential and prohibit the use or disclosure of personal information for any purpose other than the purposes specified. When you submit any personal information on this Site, we will obtain your consent authorizing the Site to share with Third Party Contractors any and all personal information that is necessary to enable additional service offerings.
To provide services to our clients, Hcareers also collects indexed content from a variety of publicly available websites. Indexed content may include personal information that you have made available such as posting on blogs. In general, such indexed content is available through standard search engines or by visiting the websites themselves. Hcareers may append this information to your profile or use this content to create a profile, whether or not an individual has an account with us. If you would like to remove the information we collect, see section I to submit your request. Hcareers cannot guarantee that we will not collect information from a publicly available source at a later point in time.
Hcareers may also disclose your personal information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. We cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who may be using our servers or Services for illegal activities. We also reserve the right to report any suspected illegal activity to law enforcement for investigation or prosecution, or to suspend or terminate your use of the Services in connection with any suspected illegal or infringing activity or if you are in violation of our Terms of Use Agreement or other published guidelines.
If Hcareers is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Site of any change in ownership or uses or transfers of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personally identifiable information. Hcareers reserves the right to assign, sell, license, or otherwise transfer to a third party your personal information in connection with an assignment, sale, joint venture, or other transfer or disposition of any portion or all of Hcareers' or its affiliated entities' assets or stock.
Hcareers partners with some clients and their applicant tracking systems to allow for a fast apply process. If in use, when you apply on the Hcareers platform and provide consent to share your information, your contact information and resume will be shared with the external applicant tracking system via API calls. The data would be available within the external applicant tracking system to the trusted, client partner and their data privacy policies would take effect at that point in time.
Technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags and scripts are used by Hcareers and our trusted service providers for certain purposes. Specifically, these technologies are used to analyze trends, support the functionality of our Site, track user tendencies when using our Site, and track or gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.
We use pixels, or transparent GIF files, to help manage online advertising. These pixels are provided by our ad management partner, DoubleClick. These files enable our ad management partner to recognize a unique cookie on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn which advertisements bring users to our Site. The information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your identifying data, such as your name, address, telephone number, or email address. Hcareers uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized data points about how visitors use our Site, including the number of visitors to the Site, from where visitors navigated to get to our Site, and the webpages. This information is collected and maintained in an anonymous form and used to compile reports and help us improve our Site. Flash Cookies: We also use local shared objects, also known as "Flash cookies," to store your preferences or display content based upon what you view on our website to personalize your visit. Web Beacons: We, along with our third parties, may use web beacons to communicate information from your device to a server. Web beacons can be embedded in online content or email messages for the purpose of transferring data, to know how many times a specific web page or email message has been viewed, determine the time and date on which you viewed the beacon, and the IP address of your device. Web beacons enable Hcareers to recognize a browser's cookie when a browser visits a Site, and to learn which banner ads bring users to each Site. Web beacons are not placed on your computer and may be provided by Hcareers' third-party advertising companies to help manage and optimize online advertising.
Hcareers web servers may automatically log aggregate information, such as your IP address, domain name, browser type, date and time of access, and other log file data. This aggregate information is used in a deidentified manner, and no single person can be identified by such aggregated information.
Links to third party websites or widgets to enable sharing of information through social networks on the Site are provided solely as a convenience to you. When you use these links, you will leave the Site. Hcareers has not reviewed all of these third-party sites and does not control or is responsible for any of the third-party sites, their content, or privacy practices. Hcareers does not endorse or make any representations about the third-party sites, or any information, services, or products found on the sites. The security of your personal information is very important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information.
We follow industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. If you choose to use our referral service to tell another person about a job, we will ask you for that person's email address.
