Golf Course Groundskeeper

Overview:

As a golfcourse groundscrew seasonal employee, you will be asked to perform a variety of taskspertaining tothe everyday maintenance of our golf facility.

Salary for this position is (based on experience): $22.00/hour. Seasonal Associates at Omni Interlocken are entitled to select benefits based on hours worked. Omni Interlocken reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race.

Responsibilities:

• Mowing

• Operate mowers on greens,tees, and other highly maintained playing surfaces and turf areas.

• Perform proper techniques and steps of mowing greens,tees, and approaches. 

• Set tee markers correctly on the tee boxes after mowing.

• Follow dailyinstructionregardingspecific mowing directions.

• Bunker Maintenance

• Rake all bunkers in your assigned section of the golf course daily and place the bunker rakes in their proper places.

• Monitor the condition of all bunker rakes in your section and report any damage.

• Edge, trim, pull weeds, andmonitorthe sand depths to properlymaintainthe playability, consistency, and aesthetics.

• Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Continually pick up all visible trash and debris found on the golf course throughout the day.

• Linetrimaround trees, fence lines, curb lines, satellite boxes, creek banks, etc.

• Edge sprinkler heads, yardage markers, and cart paths.

• Hand water specificareas asassigned by the supervisors, paying closeattention asto how much water to apply to different areas of the golf course.

• Fill divots on tee boxes and fairways with seed and soil.

• Use assigned equipment onlyand thoroughlyclean and return it to the proper place when finished.

• Safely operate utility vehicles and other motorized equipment andkeep organized and clean at all times.

• Pay close attention to designated driving routes and parking areas on the golf course so as not to interfere with golf play.

• Monitor fuel levels for assigned equipment and report any equipment damage to the mechanics.

• Assistthe other crew members in cleaning the maintenance shop at the end of thework day.

• Demonstrate preparation for day’s work by arriving in uniform and with a positive attitude.

• Understanddailyjob assignment chart and how your assignment relates to that day’s play.

• Recognize the various equipment applicationsso as tomake the properselectionfor that job assignment.

• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the game of golf, its rules and expected playing conditions.

• Demonstrate the capability to function as a member of a team toaccomplishestablished goals.

• Carry out all golf course maintenance tasks with a sense of pride and ownershipso as toadhere toestablishedquality guidelines for daily course conditioning.

• Inspect all tools and equipment prior to during and after use. Operate all equipment safely and with care and consideration of its value. Report anydamage andor lack of performance to a supervisor.Also demonstrate an understanding of the work order system for equipment repair and maintenance.

• Have a thorough understanding of Omni Hotel rules and regulations as outlined in the Omni Hotels employee handbook.

Qualifications:

• A great positive attitude.

• Availabilityto workevery other weekend isrequired.

• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Comfortable working with hazardous equipment.

• A basic knowledge of the game of golf, its rules, and expected playing conditions.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs withoutassistance

• Standing, Lifting, Bending, Twisting forlarge portionof thework day
