Job Title: Director of Operations (DOO) – Hotel

Position Summary: The Director of Operations (DOO) plays a critical leadership role within the hotel, overseeing the daily operational functions across all departments to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction, team performance, and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the General Manager/Owner and acts as a key member of the executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the hotel, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and other operational departments.

Ensure compliance with brand standards, service procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Lead and mentor department heads, supporting recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

Monitor and manage budgets, labor costs, and departmental expenses in alignment with financial goals.

Conduct regular operational meetings to align goals, priorities, and performance metrics.

Support the General Manager/Owner in strategic planning, project management, and policy implementation.

Respond to escalated guest issues and implement service recovery protocols.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and accountability.

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to optimize hotel occupancy and profitability.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of hotel management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior operations or department head role.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to manage multi-departmental teams and large-scale hotel operations.

Experience with property management systems (PMS), budgeting, and labor management tools.

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
