Overview:

The Director of Engineering is responsible for ensuring proper training and supervision of all Engineeringpersonnel and to provide consistent, cost-effective maintenance programs thatensure the property’s safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and operate, in an economic, legal, and safe manner, all R&M & Utilityexpenses.
• Managing Birchstreet for all R&M expenses, participating in all month-end financial processesand forecasting.
• Supervise a comprehensive maintenance and preventative maintenance program forpublic spaces, guestrooms, and equipment. All work requests and preventive maintenance are tobe managed in Synergy.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain general conditions and adhere to safety,health standards and legal requirements set forth by hotel policy.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and discipline engineering associates in coordination with theDirector of Associate Services.
• Recommend capital budget projects, obtain bids, and oversee contractors for projectexecution. Manage special permits and licenses as required.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of work by external vendors and contractors.
• Maintain own and resort’s special permits and licenses as required by local, state, andfederal authorities.
• Control schedules, staffing, and payroll for the Engineering team. Maintain personnelrecords, utility logs, and engineering records.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries,and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
• Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform, and professionalpersonal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protectcompany assets.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, and develop,and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality,safety, and/or cost-savings.
• Responsible for scheduling and facilitating monthly department meetings.
• Effectively coach and counsel associates as needed and complete performanceevaluations.
• Attend all company-required training.
• Champion the Omni / Power of One / Power of Engagement culture.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ hospitality Engineering experience required or in a similar field.
• Certification in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is preferred. CPO and EPA certifications arerequired. If you currently do not possess it, you will be required to obtain it within 6 months ofemployment.
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building management, and all life safetysystems pertinent to hotel operations.
• Knowledgeable in safety use of: power tools, general engineering tools, and equipment,pool pumps and filtration systems.
• Knowledgeable in ADA requirements, power, water, and sewer distribution, blueprints, and firecodes and fire protection.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Must possesseffective teamwork and guest relations.
• Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for workdirection, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
• Ability to ensure administrative functions and duties are assigned and completed,
• According to Omni standards, including timekeeping, vendor contracts, and personnelaction forms.
• Possess Relevant industry certifications and licenses as required by local authorities
