The Rooftop Pool Server provides attentive, high-energy service in a fast-paced, high-volume pool environment while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role manages multiple reservation time slots, ensures tables are reset between seating’s, and communicates effectively with hosts, runners, and the Sungold kitchen to maintain smooth service. Servers must demonstrate strong menu/beverage knowledge, upsell cocktails and packages, identify wristband colors for each time slot, manage large parties, and process guest payments, including closing checks before the end of each seating. Strong multitasking, time management, and the ability to work efficiently in outdoor conditions are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Explain menu and packages offerings.
  • Knowledge of pool safety policy.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and strictly abides by state liquor regulations; verifies legal drinking age of guests as needed.
  • Always maintains cleanliness and sanitation; resolves guest problems/complains; utilizes own best judgment in resolving issues or refers to F&B Manager as needed.
  • Assists other staff members as needed to ensure optimum service to all guests.
  • Monitors general cleanliness of pool areas, maintaining bussed tables, towels picked-up, supplied, maintained and walkways cleared. Performs closing clean-up duties.
  • Provide attentive and engaging service in a high-volume rooftop pool environment. Greets guests upon arrival; assists with seating as needed
  • Manage multiple service time slots while ensuring tables are reset and prepared for incoming guests.
  • Identify and verify guest wristband colors corresponding to each reservation time slot.
  • Communicate food orders clearly with runners and the Sungold kitchen team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Run beverages and assist the team when needed to maintain smooth service flow.
  • Handle large parties and group reservations while maintaining consistent service standards.
  • Demonstrate strong beverage knowledge and actively upsell cocktails, bottles, and packages.
  • Process guest payments accurately, including handling credit cards and following pre-authorization procedures when required.
  • Utilize POS systems efficiently while maintaining presence on the floor.
  • Assist with pool deck setup and breakdown between time slots.
  • Maintain constant communication with guests by checking in regularly and anticipating needs.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure all checks are closed before the end of each seating period.
  • Work collaboratively with hosts, runners, bartenders, and management to deliver seamless service.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of food server in a full-service restaurant is required
  • Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Experience in high-volume restaurant, pool, or rooftop service preferred.
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and payment processing.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and maintain high service standards during busy shifts.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects.
