About the management team

Meet the Rinehart's: The Heart Behind Brampton 1860

David and Hilari Rinehart are the passionate innkeepers and owners of Brampton 1860, a historic retreat nestled in Chestertown, Maryland. Their journey began not as hoteliers, but as guests—frequent visitors who fell in love with the inn’s timeless charm and tranquil setting. That affection turned into a calling when they acquired the property in August 2020, ushering in a new chapter for the beloved estate.

Formerly from Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, the Rineharts brought with them a deep appreciation for history, architecture, and community. David, a self-proclaimed history buff, has embraced the role of inn historian, sharing stories of the property’s 18th-century roots. Hilari, with her attention to detail and creative flair, has helped transform Brampton 1860 into a vibrant hub for both guests and locals.

Under their stewardship, the inn has blossomed—not only as a luxurious getaway but as a cultural gathering place. From open-air “Dining Under the Stars” evenings to festive community events like "Celebration de Noel", the Rinehart's have woven Brampton 1860 into the fabric of Chestertown life.

Their mission is simple yet heartfelt: to create a space where guests feel so welcomed and rejuvenated, they’re already planning their return before they leave. And judging by the smiles and glow
