The 2018 renovations at JD House express a modern interpretation of a ship captain’s home. Functional, no-frills pieces are mixed with modern, nautical elements, similar to how we imagine John Dougherty’s original home here might have been—reimagined for today. Our inn near the sea remains calming and understated, oriented toward the Pacific and embracing the natural elements that the Mendocino community is rooted in.
