As a member of the Leadership Committee, the Director of Events provides strategic leadership for the hotel's Events department, overseeing all aspects of event planning and execution. This role is responsible for driving event revenue, maximizing profitability, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and ensuring seamless coordination across departments. The Director of Events partners closely with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Revenue Management, and Hotel Operations to achieve the hotel's financial objectives while maintaining Hyatt's standards of excellence.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Event Planning & Servicing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Manage the department's budget, P&L, revenue forecasting, business planning, and ownership reporting. 
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize event revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction. 
• Maintain a strong client base while actively cultivating new business opportunities and relationships. 
• Manage the detailing and servicing of events, including guestrooms, meeting space, food and beverage, menu planning, agendas, meeting services, hospitality amenities, and VIP requests. 
• Partner with the Executive Chef to develop creative, market-driven menus while ensuring appropriate pricing and profitability. 
• Collaborate with the Event Services Manager to ensure banquet service, room setups, presentation, and operational quality consistently exceed guest expectations. 
• Oversee payment collection, billing accuracy, and all client communications before, during, and after events. 
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt Event Standards, including inquiry response, site tours, event planning, execution, and post-event follow-up. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred. 
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Events, Catering, Conference Services, Hotel Sales, or a related hospitality environment. 

• Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams while achieving revenue and guest satisfaction goals through effective communication, 

  presentation, and organizational skills

• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and departmental P&L. 
• Strong knowledge of event planning, catering operations, banquet execution, and food & beverage services. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment utilizing strong problem-solving abilities and sound business judgment.
