Indian Valley Country Club is currently searching for a Staff Accountant with a focus on Accounts Payable and Inventory Processes.  We are very excited for this search process and for the opportunity to welcome the right person into our team and family.

Over the past 5-10 years, we have grown significantly as a club.  We have renovated nearly every facet of our facility and golf course, and have reinvigorated our operation.  Our total revenue has grown from $4.5M in 2015 to $9M today, and our members have never been happier about using the club and bringing guests.  In fact, over our five most recent member satisfaction surveys, an average of 98.6% of our members have said they are either Satisfied or Very Satisfied with their overall experience at the club.

We’ve also been able to keep our employees happy through this radical growth.  Our recent Employee Satisfaction Survey had 99% of all club employees answer ‘Agree’ or “Strongly Agree’ to the question, “I am satisfied with my job overall”, 98% Agree or Strongly Agree with “My managers encourage me to give my best effort, and 96% Agree or Strongly Agree with “I have the tools and training to do my job to the best of my ability.”

Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable & Inventory Management

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of our accounting processes, with a particular emphasis on accounts payable and inventory management.  The successful candidate must be comfortable working with the management team, particularly the retail operation of the Golf Shop, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring they are followed, as well as being a resource for purchasing, purchasing decisions, and inventory management.

Core Responsibilities:

• Process and input invoices for multiple departments, including Golf Shop, Food & Beverage, Golf Course Maintenance, and Clubhouse supplies, ensuring timely payments are made.
• Following established procedures to ensure Golf Shop inventory system is current and accurate:
  • Inputting invoices into inventory program and developing SKUs
  • Ensure products are received and SKUs are affixed to items
  • Processing invoices through accounting system for payment
  • Timely processing of special orders
  • Timely processing of demo clubs.
• Assist with organizing, preparing for, and completing physical inventory counts for Golf Shop, food, beverage, and Golf Course Maintenance departments.  Input results and reconcile with records and department heads.
• Reconcile vendor statements and accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Ensure all payments and processes comply with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with inventory planning.  Creating and adhering to goals for inventory levels.
• Develop and maintain par-levels for staple goods in various departments.
• Manage aging stock, when appropriate.  Develop plans to sell aging stock and minimize dead stock.
• Maintain proper documentation and coding for company credit card purchases and receipts.  Process and verify purchases for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Support Controller with month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and other general accounting tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting or accounts payable experience; experience in inventory procedures strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Jonas, ForeTees, or similar club/golf systems a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Previous experience in a golf, private club, or hospitality setting highly desirable.
• A positive, ‘can do’ attitude, friendly and outgoing personality, and strong beliefs in the importance of teamwork.

• Competitive base-salary based on experience.
