We're looking for an Assistant Director of Rooms to help lead the heartbeat of our hotel, the teams who make every arrival, every stay, and every departure feel effortless. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives on the fast pace of NYC hospitality and knows that exceptional guest experience is built on the details: a spotless room, a warm welcome, a problem solved before the guest even notices it.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, as Assistant Director of Rooms you'll oversee both Front Office and Housekeeping, two departments that, together, define how our guests feel the moment they walk through the door.

What you'll do as Assistant Director of Rooms;

Lead Front Office with confidence

• Own the full guest journey — registration, check-in/check-out, reservations, concierge, and bell services
• Turn guest concerns into guest loyalty by resolving issues quickly and thoughtfully
• Coach and train your team, both in formal sessions and in the moment, on the floor
• Use our property management systems to drive upselling, accurate billing, and smooth transactions
• Keep shift reports, checklists, and cash handling running like clockwork

Champion Housekeeping excellence

• Set the standard for clean, safe, guest-ready rooms — every room, every time
• Track turnover times and guest feedback to keep quality consistently high
• Partner closely with Front Office on room assignments, occupancy, and special requests
• Uphold health, safety, and brand standards across all housekeeping activity
• Bring sharp attention to detail and a genuine appetite for solving problems

Operate like an owner

• Support budgeting, planning, and performance tracking across both departments
• Spot operational risks early — from guest service to maintenance to public spaces — and act on them
• Keep accurate records on attendance, discipline, and training
• Keep an eye on supplies, technology, and equipment so nothing slows the team down
• Step up as Manager on Duty when needed

What we're looking for

A natural leader with hands-on experience across Front Office and Housekeeping in a fast-paced, guest-focused hotel environment. Someone who leads from the floor, coaches with patience, and holds a high bar for both service and standards — while staying calm when a busy NYC hotel throws the unexpected your way.

Compensation: $85,000 annual
