Guest Service Manager

The Guest Service Manager oversees daily dining room operations with a "Guest First" mentality. Serving as the service team captain, you will manage real-time guest feedback and report directly to the General Manager to drive operational excellence. This role balances celebrating team wins with patient, effective coaching to continuously improve performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Performance Management: Direct FOH operations according to TES Inc. Leadership Traits; provide real-time feedback to maintain elite standards.
  • Coaching & Development: Mentor staff to enhance service quality and foster long-term professional growth. Coaching includes performance reviews and progressive discipline.

Guest Excellence

  • Experience Oversight: Consistently execute service standards to exceed guest expectations and build brand loyalty.
  • Conflict Resolution: Analyze and resolve complex guest concerns, providing expert support to all teammates.
  • Revenue Promotion: Proactively identify opportunities for upselling initiatives involving guest feedback, upselling and social media reviews.

Position & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Culture: Uphold the Company Mission Statement in every guest and teammate interaction.
  • Operational Mastery: Maintain full proficiency in all FOH stations and procedures.
  • Growth: Drive revenue by managing guest feedback and monitoring social media engagement.
  • Operations: Oversee opening and closing procedures to ensure strict adherence to company standards.
  • Administration: Utilize technology to manage schedules, timecards, performance reviews, and supply ordering with high accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of high-volume experience; with 1 year supervisory and progression of 3 years within hospitality leadership management setting; hospitality and POS proficiency preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be 18+ years of age.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; able to lead teams and engage professionally with guests.
  • Traits: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive in prioritizing tasks and solving challenges.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Technology: Proficiency in the following applications: Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.), HRIS Platform (Scheduling/Timesheets), and Reservation systems.

Miller's Smorgasbord Restaurant

Before there was Route 30, Enos Miller started a truck repair and gas station on Lincoln Highway East. His wife, Anna, served homecooked meals with a friendly smile to his customers, thus starting Miller’s in 1929. Over time, word spread about Anna’s PA Dutch dishes like Chicken and Waffles and crowds came specifically for her tasty dishes. Outgrowing the space for dining, the restaurant took over the space the repair shop occupied. In 1948, Anna and Enos sold the restaurant to long-term employees, Beatrice and Thomas Strauss. As the restaurant flourished, Beatrice and Thomas officially changed the name to Miller’s Smorgasbord and began serving our famous “seven sweets and seven sours” in 1957. You will still find the “seven sweets and seven sours” on the Smorgasbord today. In 1973, the Strauss family expanded Miller’s baking capabilities by establishing Miller’s Bakery next to the restaurant. This allowed for the homemade baked goods and desserts that Miller’s Smorgasbord was known for to also be sold directly to the public as well as wholesale. Today, you can purchase Miller’s raisin bread, our famous chocolate pecan pie, sticky buns, shoofly pies, whoopie pies, and more along with other locally made dressings, jams, and food from the bakery storefront, Locally Made Food Shop. In 2024, the lobby gift shop moved next to Locally Made and became Anna’s Gifts & Sundries.
