Loss Prevention Officer Overnight
Overview:
The Overnight Loss Prevention Officer ensures the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and employees, to enforce the policies and procedures of the hotel and to record in writing any assigned task. Prepare incident and accident reports accuratelyand in the formatspecified by the Director of Loss Prevention.
Responsibilities:
Toobserveand report on all assignments
Able to keepaccuraterecords and communicate using radio equipment.
Record and report any unsafe conditions while patrolling hotel property.
To ensure protection and preservation of hotel, guest, and employee property.
Maintainprofessionalattitude and appearance.
Patrol hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect all hotel assets.
Answer house calls toassistboth guests and associates with respect to safety,securityand hotel operations.
Initiate andfollow-upwith all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.
Assistsick/injured guests or associates ensuring all documentation, reporting and witness statements have been completed withina timelymanner.
Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports,monitorinvestigations to theirtimelyconclusionand ensureappropriate follow-upwith guests,visitorsand employees, documenting all contacts.
Maintainaccuraterecords while performing basic duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log,codebookand employee/guest interactions.
Monitor/distribute visitor and vendor access to the property by distributing visitor badges.
Perform frequent bag checks for associates leaving the property.
Escort and interact with special guests that need privacy when entering/exiting the hotel throughheartof the house areas.
Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitiveguestor associate issues.
Assistsupervisor or director in checking alarm systems, safety and fire alarm systems and closelymonitoringsecurity of building doors, service areas, deliveryareasand grounds.
Assisthotel management in emergency situations by knowing all hotel safety procedures and leading/directing guests and associates to safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previousexperience as a Loss Prevention Officer is strongly preferred.
Must be able to stand and walk forentireshift.
Mustbe able to communicate effectively by telephone, email,radioand reporting.
Musthave basic computer knowledge.
Must be able to reach various areas of the hotel/resort at a rapid pace if necessary.
FirstAid/CPR Certification is preferred.
Must be able to stand & walk for up to 4 hours in length.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to daily task
Mustbe able to lift items weighingin excess of15 lbs. routinely.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250lbs
Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments and locations of the hotel and outside thehotel on hotelgrounds ona timelybasis.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing,listeningand hearing ability and visual acuity.
Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
Mustbe able to work overnight shifts,weekendsand holidays
Requires manual dexterity to use andoperateall necessary equipment.
Must have finger dexterity to be able tooperateoffice equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers,dollyand other office equipment as needed.
