Job Overview:
The Bartender at Encore Hospitality is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, including cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, to guests at the hotel's bar and during events. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and ensuring compliance with alcohol service regulations. The Bartender plays a crucial role in creating a positive guest experience and contributing to the overall success of the bar operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Drink Preparation & Service:
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and soft drinks, according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
- Ensure that all drinks are prepared and presented to a high standard, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Provide recommendations and answer questions about drink options, ingredients, and menu items.

Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, friendly, and professional service throughout their visit.
- Handle guest requests, orders, and complaints effectively, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.
- Build rapport with guests and maintain a welcoming atmosphere at the bar.

Bar Maintenance & Organization:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including countertops, glassware, utensils, and equipment.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of alcoholic beverages, mixers, and bar supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure that the bar area is stocked and prepared for service, including garnishes, glassware, and utensils.

Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to alcohol service, including checking guest identification and monitoring guest behavior.
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food and beverage handling, including proper sanitation practices and responsible alcohol service.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns to the Bar Manager or Food & Beverage Manager.

Cash Handling & Transactions:
- Process payments and handle cash, credit cards, and vouchers accurately, following established procedures for transactions and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, tips, and inventory usage.

Event Support:
- Assist with bar service for special events, including setup, service, and cleanup.
- Collaborate with event coordinators and other staff to ensure that bar operations run smoothly during events.

Administrative Duties:
- Complete any necessary paperwork related to inventory, sales, and incidents.
- Assist with training new bartenders and providing guidance on bar procedures and service standards.
Qualifications and Skills:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in bartending or mixology is a plus.

Experience:
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role in a hospitality or bar setting.
- Familiarity with cocktail recipes, bar equipment, and beverage service.

Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to create a positive and engaging experience for guests.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of alcohol regulations and responsible service practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including kegs, bottles, and bar supplies.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching, and working in a busy bar environment.
Work Environment:
- Indoor bar environment with exposure to varying conditions depending on the time of day and event.
- Collaborative atmosphere with interactions with guests, bar staff, and management.
- Fast-paced environment requiring effective multitasking and attention to detail.
