Position Title: Member Services Associate – Golf Shop

Position Summary

The Member Services Associate delivers an exceptional, hospitality-driven experience within a premier private club environment. This role blends retail, member services, and daily golf operations to create a seamless and elevated experience for every member interaction.

This is not a traditional retail position. The golf shop is a bright, beautifully designed space featuring a curated mix of golf apparel, equipment, and lifestyle merchandise. The ideal candidate is professional, personable, and committed to providing outstanding service while building meaningful relationships with members. Golf knowledge is a plus, but not required.

Essential Functions

• Provide warm, personalized service to all members and guests, creating a welcoming and elevated experience
• Support daily retail operations including merchandise sales, transactions, and member assistance
• Answer phone calls, assist with tee times, and respond to member inquiries with accuracy and professionalism
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shop environment at all times
• Assist with merchandising, including product displays, restocking, and inventory organization
• Assist members with purchases, special orders, and follow-up communication through completion
• Maintain knowledge of all merchandise, brands, and services offered in the golf shop
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including register reconciliation and system summaries
• Support tournaments, events, and daily golf operations as needed
• Uphold club policies including dress code, guest privileges, and pace of play guidelines
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
• Promote a positive, team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with all departments
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

• Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a private club or hospitality setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and trust
• Professional, polished, and approachable demeanor
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems (Jonas preferred)
• Interest in retail, apparel, or lifestyle brands; golf knowledge is a plus but not required

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Prior retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Experience in a private club or high-end service environment is a plus

Working Conditions

• Must maintain regular and reliable attendance based on business needs
• Must be available to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
• Frequent standing, walking, and interaction with members throughout the day
• Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 40 pounds
• Repetitive use of hands and arms for retail and computer-related tasks
• Occasional bending, reaching, and lifting as required in a retail environment
