Compensation: $45,000 to $48,000 per year

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides administrative support focusing on Banquet Event Orders, proposals, contracts, rooming lists, payment schedules, function estimates and other tasks as required.
- Ensure Contracts are distributed to the necessary departments accurately and on time.
- Work closely with clients and handle all aspects of event details after the contract is signed.
- Assist the sales & catering managers by qualifying leads and forwarding to the appropriate manager
- Conducts professional site inspections & pre-event meetings with clients and answer questions they may have for their event.
- Reach out to customers post-event to ensure complete satisfaction of our services.
- Assist sales manager in prospecting efforts by making & qualifying calls and potential for business and provide to appropriate sales manager.
- Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner; - within a 2 hour call back and 4-8 hour response time.
- Fosters relationships and visibility with suppliers, event & third party planners to increase business levels.
- Stays current with trends, assists with creation of new themes, special events and service standards.
- Acts as liaison between Sales Department and other hotel departments.
- Responsible for social media postings and enhancements, as required.
- Administrative tasks like preparing contracts & proposals as assigned by the Director of Sales.
- Will be the CI/TY system (Marriott PMS System), OPERA system champion.
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy of company and co-workers, privileged communications and records
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A diploma or degree in Marketing, Business or Hospitality Management or related field
1-2 years of sales experience in Hospitality or related service industry preferred
Experience managing, and planning group events is an asset
Effective communication and negotiation skills in English (written and verbal)
Knowledge and experience of Sales Systems (Opera, CI/TY, MARSHA etc.)
Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and commitments, and complete tasks and projects as required
Strong detailing & organizational skills required to maintain electronic and paper filing systems
