At Pulitzer Amsterdam, every dish tells a story. As Kitchen Chef at Jansz., you lead one of our key culinary teams with confidence, creativity, and a sharp eye for quality. From breakfast through dinner, you ensure every service runs smoothly, every plate meets our standards, and every team member feels motivated to perform at their best.
In this role, you are responsible for the full kitchen operation of Jansz., leading a brigade of approximately 20 team members. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you combine hands-on leadership on the floor with strong operational oversight behind the scenes. You know how to bring structure during busy service, create a positive and professional atmosphere in the kitchen, and keep quality and consistency at the heart of everything you do.
Alongside daily service, you play an important role in menu and recipe development, stock control, scheduling, HACCP compliance, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows. Besides that you oversee the staffcanteen operation to provide healthy meals for all of our employees. You understand how to balance creativity with organisation and know how to keep a kitchen running at a high level across breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
What you bring
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a professional kitchen
  • Strong operational knowledge across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
  • A natural ability to lead, motivate, and build a strong kitchen team
  • Solid understanding of HACCP, stock management, and kitchen administration
  • A calm, hands-on approach and the ability to stay focused under pressure
