Contracted Internal Auditor – Hotels & Resorts (Heavy Travel)

We are seeking an experienced, self-driven Hospitality Internal Control Auditor to perform on-site operational and financial audits across a multi-property hotel portfolio. This is a field-based 1099 contracted role for someone fluent in the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) Version 12 standards published by the American Hotel & Lodging Association and comfortable working directly with hotel property leadership.

What you’ll do

• Conduct property-level operational & financial audits

• Evaluate internal controls, cash handling, payroll, and revenue processes

• Ensure USALI-compliant reporting

• Identify risks, cost savings, and efficiency opportunities

• Deliver clear, actionable audit reports

What you bring

• 5+ years of hotel accounting or hotel internal control audit experience

• Controller, Assistant Controller, or Audit background preferred

• Strong Excel/Word & financial analysis skills

• Independent, travel-ready, and hands-on

📍 Remote/home-based

✈️ 60–80% nationwide travel

📄 Contract (1099 or C2C)

💰 $1,600–$2,000 per property audit + travel expenses reimbursed.  Average 30 to 40 hotels annually
