Compensation: $75,000 to $85,000 per year plus bonus

Job Overview
Spark Hotels is seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to help grown revenue for our newly renovated Fairfield Inn and Suites Columbus OSU. This high profile, select-service hotel serves the Columbus market with an excellent location close to downtown, The Ohio State University, and other major attractions. This role will be responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and executing sales strategies that support the hotel’s overall performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the on-property hotel sales team to exceed revenue goals
  • Create and execute strategic sales and marketing plans aligned with brand objectives
  • Oversee and grow a portfolio of group, corporate, and transient accounts to maximize profitability
  • Prospect new business through calls, site visits, networking, and community engagement
  • Respond to inquiries, RFPs, and client requests promptly and professionally
  • Support sales initiatives including sales blitzes, presentations, and trade events
  • Coordinate with hotel leadership, operations, and revenue management to optimize bookings
  • Manage sales budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting
  • Ensure all proposals, contracts, and marketing materials meet brand standards
  • Build strong community and client relationships to enhance the hotel’s market presence
  • Support hotel operations through collaboration with leadership and participation in MOD coverage

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum 3 years of hotel sales experience
  • Proven leadership and team-development experience
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales, marketing, and revenue strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Delphi or similar systems a plus
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel locally as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands frequently; lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven hospitality environment with moderate noise levels.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a quarterly bonus up to 20% of base earnings, awarded based on performance and in accordance with Spark Hotels' guidelines.
