Luxury Hotel Seeks Dynamic Associate Director of Sales in NYC

Compensation: Starting at $145,000 per year plus bonus

JOB OVERVIEW:

New York's premier independent luxury hotel is looking for an individual who is a proactive leader, an outside the box thinker, a team player, motivator, and someone with a proven track record in luxury hotel sales (New York preferred). Strong interpersonal and managerial skills are also a requirement for this role.

Position Summary

The Associate Director of  Sales plays a key role in driving corporate and group business revenue through proactive sales efforts, strategic account management, and strong relationship building. This position supports the Director of Sales in developing and executing the corporate sales strategy, with a focus on high-value accounts, negotiated rates, long-term partnerships, and group opportunities aligned with the brand positioning of the hotel.

The ideal candidate is commercially driven, highly organized, relationship-oriented, and experienced in luxury or upper-upscale hospitality.

Key Responsibilities – Corporate & Group Sales

- Proactively solicit, manage, and grow a portfolio of corporate and group accounts to maximize room revenue and market share

- Oversee and support group business, working closely with internal teams to ensure successful conversion and execution

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate travel managers, executive assistants, procurement teams, and travel agencies

- Negotiate and manage corporate and group contracts, including rate agreements, RFPs, and preferred partnerships

- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market research

- Conduct sales calls, site inspections, presentations, and client entertainment as needed

- Be available for business travel and local sales calls as required

Key Responsibilities – Strategy & Revenue Collaboration

- Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to align corporate and group pricing, availability, and displacement strategy

- Monitor account and group performance, production trends, and pickup to ensure revenue goals are met

- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and segment strategy development

- Prepare regular sales reports, account reviews, and performance updates

Key Responsibilities – Internal Coordination

- Work closely with Reservations, Front Office, Revenue, Events, and Operations to ensure seamless execution of corporate and group accounts

- Ensure accurate account information, rate loading, and profiles in the PMS and CRM systems

- Communicate key account details, VIPs, groups, and special arrangements internally

Brand Representation

- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, client functions, and networking opportunities

- Uphold brand standards and positioning in all client interactions and communications

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate and/or group sales within luxury or upper-upscale hospitality

- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals

- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills

- Experience managing corporate RFPs, negotiated rate programs, and group contracts

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results driven

- Proficiency in hotel systems (Opera, Delphi, or similar CRM tools preferred)

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader leadership team
