Banquet Chef Job Summary

Our Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated hands on Banquet Chef to join our culinary team. We host a variety of events from high tea to black ties galas. We prefer applicants who have relevant professional experience as well as an educational background in culinary arts. Your primary tasks in this role are to oversee the main kitchen staff, training them to prepare menu items while upholding portioning, plating, financial and sanitation standards. Candidates will also write and assist with menu development, cooking for each event and ensuring our kitchen is sufficiently staffed and stocked.

Banquet Chef Duties and Responsibilities

• Train and oversee main kitchen staff on how to prepare menu items
• Degree in culinary arts strongly preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of sous chef/kitchen manager or higher experience required
• ServeSafe certification required (can be expired to start)
• Communication skills (English and any Spanish is a plus) and computer literacy
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, excellence and professionalism at all times
• Maintain professional and developmental relationship with our Events team
• Order ingredients and maintain kitchen inventory
• Enforce proper SSOP (sanitation standard operating procedures)
