Skill Level:                       Applies in-depth professional-level knowledge to independently solve a full range of complex problems. Serves as a trusted “go to” person by management.

General Position Summary:

The General Manager provides overall leadership and management of golf course operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, sound financial management, and effective staff leadership.  The General Manager oversees golf operations, food and beverage, and guest services- and ensures alignment with MCRA’s mission, values, and standards for excellence- Genuine Smile, Do Anything Attitude, Deliver Excellence.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Fiscal Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily cash flow thru all POS registers and reconciliation at the end of each business day
• Manage budgets, revenue forecasting, and financial reporting; analyze key performance indicators to ensure consistent quality and profitability for both golf operations and F&B departments
• Participate in long-term capital projects and improvement projects to enhance facility value and guest experience
• Develop strategies to increase rounds played, and ancillary revenue streams

 Human Resources & Culture

• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff
• Promote a positive and inclusive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and professional development
• Lead safety initiatives and risk management programs for staff and guests
• Support bi-weekly payroll for hourly staff, including reporting of all tips and commission
• Conduct performance reviews
• Schedule management for all departments, monitoring time off requests and any additional staff needs for tournaments and/or special events

        Inventory Management

• Order and manage pro shop and F&B inventory to fit the customer and golf courses needs
• Manage all special order requests and communicate with the customer in a timely manner
• Monthly inventory audits of pro shop and F&B current stock
• Keep up with current trends of the market and adjust accordingly
• Successfully achieve the expected Cost of Goods Sold in Merchandise and F&B

   Customer Service

• Always express a Genuine Smile, Do Anything Attitude and strive for Delivering Excellence while interacting with customers
• Demonstrate a high level of visibility to ensure customers are always satisfied
• Project a professional personal appearance and demeanor
• Ensure the overall presentation (cleanliness) of the facility, adherence to brand and service standards

  Other Duties & Responsibilities

• Ability to plan, organize, and execute golf outings and special events
• Work with the marketing team for promotional items, specials, and events to host
• If certified, provide golf instruction as needed
• Collaborate with the Superintendent to maintain course conditions at high standards

Education and/or Experience:  

A bachelor’s degree, or 5 years of professional golf experience including 3 years of supervisory experience, or equivalent work experience; each year of work as a supervisor may be substituted for each year of education required. Experience in the Hospitality industry a plus while not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results.
• Must be able to understand and execute all golf course positions.
• Excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of managing employees and demonstrated success in doing so.
• Proven interpersonal skills; ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure, adhering to frequent deadlines and juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Conditions:  

MCRA is a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This job may experience high work demands under tight timelines.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000.00 plus quarterly bonus potential
