Summary

The executive housekeeper is responsible for executing the housekeeping program at the hotel, ensuring clean, orderly, attractive conditions of establishment by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

1. Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
2. Plans work schedules to ensure adequate services.
3. Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment.
4. Submits to management recommendations for painting repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space.
5. Regularly inventories supplies and equipment.
6. Investigates new and improved cleaning instruments and methods.

Supervisory Responsibility

Directly manages room inspectors, room attendants, housemen, and laundry personnel. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, performance appraisals, planning, assigning and directing work and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Work Environment

This job operates in public spaces and non-public areas of the property including guest rooms. This role routinely uses standard cleaning equipment, supplies and chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, and noise.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is required to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 40 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

1. Prior experience in a housekeeping position.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Prior experience as an Executive Housekeeper or 2 years supervisory experience.
