JOB PURPOSE: To maintain the highest standards possible for the guest by insuring quick, efficient, and professional Barback, Food Runner, and Dining Room Attendant services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Bar Back

• Stock and replenish bar supplies and beverages

• Maintain adequate ice, glassware, paper supplies, and garnishes
• Keep bar and storage areas clean and organized
• Assist bartenders during service
• Restock coolers and liquor storage
• Remove trash and maintain cleanliness
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Monitor inventory and communicate shortages
• Follow sanitation, safety, and service standards
• Assist with keg and equipment changes as needed
• Complete side work and restaurant opening/closing duties
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Food Runner

• Ability to learn and communicate ingredients and preparations of culinary dishes to guests
• Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately
• Ensure plates are properly presented before leaving the kitchen
• Assist servers with food delivery and table maintenance
• Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding orders
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas
• Complete side work and restaurant opening/closing duties
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Monitor guest needs and communicate requests to the server
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1 year food runner experience/bar back experience preferred. Other relevant hotel / food & beverage experience will be considered.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers, with the ability to answer guest questions and describe menu items.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:

• Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in an indoor/outdoor environments.
• Required repetitive motion of arms, hands, and legs.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

• Serving trays, tray jacks, flatware, glassware, Micros terminals
