This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications.  The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future.  The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

          Prepare, cook, and plate meals according to established recipes and quality standards.

• Lead and work alongside kitchen staff during daily service.
• Plan menus, specials, and daily food preparation.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Order, receive, and properly store food and kitchen supplies.
• Maintain inventory and minimize food waste and unnecessary costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Coordinate with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with scheduling, prep lists, and kitchen organization.
• Handle busy service periods while maintaining consistency and professionalism.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Previous professional kitchen or culinary experience.
• Strong cooking and food-preparation skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Culinary training or certification is preferred but may not be required.

• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for an eight-plus hour shift.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking,
• Frequent talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
