Durango Cocina & Rooftop is looking for a dependable and hardworking Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in preparing quality food, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes, portion standards, and daily prep lists
• Cook and plate menu items accurately and consistently
• Wash, cut, portion, label, date, and properly store food products
• Maintain food quality, freshness, presentation, and portion control
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
• Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food deliveries
• Follow FIFO procedures and help reduce food waste
• Communicate with cooks, servers, supervisors, and other team members
• Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen-cleaning duties
• Follow all restaurant policies, recipes, safety procedures, and management instructions
• Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned

• Previous restaurant kitchen, line cook, or food-preparation experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as needed
• Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts based on business needs
• Valid California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within the required timeframe
