Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of two Hilton-branded hotels: Hilton Garden Inn Kalamazoo & Home2 Suites by Hilton Kalamazoo. This position oversees all aspects of hotel operations, including guest satisfaction, financial performance, associate engagement, sales and revenue growth, brand compliance, and asset management. The General Manager will foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement while maximizing profitability and achieving ownership objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations for both properties, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction and service excellence.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain hotel team members and department leaders.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share through effective sales, revenue management, and expense control.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, labor costs, and financial performance to achieve ownership goals.
- Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Build relationships with guests, business partners, and the local community.
- Monitor property conditions and oversee maintenance and capital improvement projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of General Manager experience in hotel operations.
- Proven success managing hotel financial performance and achieving revenue goals.
- Experience with Hilton brand standards and operational systems.
- Strong knowledge of revenue management, budgeting, forecasting, and labor management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dual-property environment.
- Experience managing both select-service and full-service hotel operations.
- Hilton General Manager certification or comparable Hilton experience.
- Multi-property leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of STR reporting, RevPAR strategies, and market analysis.
