Position: Director of Loss Prevention

Department: Loss Prevention

Purpose: To direct allLoss Preventionfunctions in the hotel ensuring a safe and secure accuracy andtimelysubmission.

Reportsto: Director of Engineering

EssentialFunctions:

• EnsuresallLoss Preventionstandards are properly followed.
• Reviewsall reports completed byLoss Preventionofficers to ensure accuracy andtimelysubmission.
• Reports all observedhotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
• Ensures thorough and complete investigation forall incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e.losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence).
• Maintains guest room surveillance procedures.
• Maintains an effective key control program.
• Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times.
• Responsible for payroll, schedulingand other administrative duties.
• Attends all hotel meetings such as evening stand up, Ops, Safety Committee, Rooms Division, and bi-weekly staffmeeting.
• Brief on- comingshift officer and the MOD on allLoss Preventionissues prior to leaving property.
• Maintain high visibility in the lobby and other public areas, especially during busy periods.
• Function as MOD on weekends.
• Respond to all fire and medical emergencies.
• Develop department policies and procedures.
• Excellent computer skills.

Tools and Equipment:

• Telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine,computer and printer, file folders, filing cabinet, and facsimile machine
• Lift jack dolly, hand truck, camera, first aid equipment

Working Environment:

• Interior of hotel, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Exterior ofhotel with exposure to weather conditions.
• Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
