A historic 205-room full-service hotel in Central Pennsylvania is seeking an exceptional hospitality professional to serve in a unique Director of Sales / General Manager Hybrid role. Backed by a $4 million renovation and significant ownership investment, the hotel is entering an exciting new chapter and reclaiming its position as the region’s premier destination for lodging, meetings, banquets, weddings, and social events. Connected to the region’s premier performing arts venue and offering one of the largest banquet facilities in North Central Pennsylvania, the hotel is uniquely positioned to serve association, corporate, social, and community events.

The Opportunity
This position combines strategic sales leadership with executive hotel management. The successful candidate will actively develop Association, Corporate, Group, and SMERF business while overseeing the hotel’s overall operational and financial performance through an Assistant General Manager selected in partnership with ownership.
Supported by an experienced management team, the Director of Sales / General Manager Hybrid will focus on restoring market share, strengthening community relationships, expanding group business, and maximizing profitability throughout the property.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable calling on major accounts, presenting to association executives, reviewing financial statements, leading management meetings, and engaging with guests and associates throughout the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide overall leadership and direction for all hotel operations
• Develop and execute strategic plans to increase occupancy, average rate, banquet revenue, and market share
• Personally lead the hotel’s sales efforts with emphasis on Association, Corporate, Group, and SMERF business
• Build and maintain relationships with meeting planners, association executives, corporate decision-makers, and community leaders
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry conferences, networking events, and civic organizations
• Establish and achieve ambitious revenue production goals
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and financial performance
• Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing leadership team
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and service delivery across all departments
• Drive accountability, operational excellence, and a culture of hospitality throughout the organization
Qualifications
• Minimum ten years of successful senior hotel leadership experience as a General Manager, Director of Sales, Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, or comparable executive hospitality position
• Proven record of generating significant group, association, corporate, and SMERF business
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, sales strategy, revenue management, food and beverage operations, and financial controls
• Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships and close large group accounts
• Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive measurable business results
• Experience with hotel repositioning, renovation, or turnaround projects is highly desirable
Compensation and Benefits
•Competitive salary of $100,000-$125,000, commensurate with experience, plus a performance bonus opportunity of up to 25% based on revenue growth, profitability, and market share objectives.
