TITLE: Information Technology Manager (Shared Services)

DEPARTMENT: IT Department

STATUS: Exempt, Full Time, Regular ($80,000 Annually)

SUPERVISED BY: Director of Information Technology

SUPERVISES: None

The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for managing several functional technology hardware and software to provide operational support and leadership to facilitate compliance with security protocols, protect data, and ensure computer systems are optimized to meet the unique needs of the company. The IT Manager will be expected to be available on a 24-hour basis and will adhere to any project demands at any given time of the day, either on or off property.  The IT Manager will need to possess the fundamentals of troubleshooting computers, applications and assisting guests as well as departmental staff. Must be open-minded and can think outside the box.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure best practices and standard operating procedures are maintained, particularly with software licensing, systems security and comply with all IT-related audit aspects.
  • Ensure that the company IT systems are fully utilized in favor of providing the best service to our guests and that the most updated software and hardware, within standards, are implemented.
  • Ensure maintaining a full hardware register/inventory updated files.
  • Respond to client inquiries, meet and greet clients, schedule and conduct property tours to promote and sell facilities and services.
  • Will provide hands-on training regarding HOTSOS, Rex, and Oasis Systems.
  • Checks mainframe computer system malfunctions with the operators/users and uses more extensive knowledge of computer operations in diagnosing and restarting systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with guests and assist with any technical challenges for the duration of the guest(s) stay. This includes multi-user guests in meeting spaces
  • Ensure prompt and professional responses to helpdesk tickets
  • Assist in day-to-day troubleshooting with all departments and maintenance of company systems, i.e., Opera, Hotsos, Micros, Outlook, and Printing
  • Work closely with IT and Engineering staff on system maintenance and development/training.
  • Terminating, crimping, toning, and wiring analog and cat/jacks
  • Ample knowledge of Microsoft products, including Windows and Office
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Must be alert and quick reasoning. Ability to interpret instructions and guidelines set by the company’s policy and procedures.
  • Assist with the coordination of vendors and client and in-house departments regarding technology-related materials to set up and configure

  • Speaks to staff, community, and business groups on the effective use of technology for the purpose of actively working to build a healthy partnership with vendors, staff, departments and properties.
  • Prepares information, how-to guides and support materials as needed by the Director of Technical Operations personnel.        
  • Coordinates and performs technical work and provides technical assistance to the staff, guests, and vendors for the purpose of architecting, delivering and maintaining a reliable and stable technology infrastructure for all properties.
  • Can work independently at assigned tasks and projects, and provide proper follow-up, including making sure everything is in working order before leaving the job site
  • Demonstrate leadership skills; effective guest service experiences; technical ability to learn and grasp and operate applications, upgrades, and a variety of software programs

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 4 years of IT experience in a hotel is preferred
  • Supervisory experience is also required to finish assigned projects and tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Office 365 integration and administration
  • Experience in Opera, MICROS systems environment awareness, Oracle systems awareness, and understanding hotel applications is an asset.
  • Mitel System, Oasis, Saflok, Inncom, Vincard, and other guest services and hotel applications preferred

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or hospitality or IT field or equivalent of 4 years relevant work experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL WORK DEMANDS:

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis.
  • Regular and on-time attendance is critical.
  • Hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to stand during shifts
  • Use hands to lift objects and tools while operating mechanical parts.
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee will occasionally be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat in various circumstances. Employee must be able to adjust to these conditions.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: 

  • Meet regularly with the Director of IT to share ideas, experiences, and resources.
  • Consult with the Director of IT regarding supervisory and management skill development.
  • Keep abreast of computing technology.
  • Remain Focused and Patient in development.
  • Take Constructive Criticism in and use it for development.
