Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter’s 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel’s 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building’s legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan – a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome every guest and set the tone for their visit
- Manage reservations and walk-ins to maximise table turns without sacrificing hospitality
- Handle special requests and resolve concerns swiftly and graciously
- Train, mentor, and inspire the host team to deliver consistent, elevated service
- Lead pre-shift briefings covering reservations, VIP guests, and service priorities
- Act as the bridge between the dining room, hotel front desk, and culinary team
- Oversee seating flow and table assignments across all meal periods
- Maintain the reservation system with guest notes, preferences, and feedback
- Build and manage the host schedule to cover all service periods
- Own menu printing, paper inventory, and daily reporting
Hourly wage : $22 - 24
