Uniform Attendant

Overview:

The Seamster|Uniform Attendant tailors and alters employee uniforms and other housekeeping related items. They are also responsible for issuing uniforms and other items relating to the Housekeeping department.

Responsibilities:

Assist with uniform issuance.

Label uniforms.

Repair or alter uniforms.

Responsible for repairing other items relating to Housekeeping department.

Inspect all uniforms/clothing prior to repairs.

Assist with monitoring and keeping an inventory of uniforms.

Assist with counting and tracking outgoing/incoming dry cleaning.

Work with dry cleaning company to find missing dry cleaning items.

Upon request, repair or alter clothing for guests.

Responsible for repairing items such as drapes, sheers, bed skirts, other linen, etc.

Able to service guest with pressing clothing.

Assist Office Coordinator as needed.

Maintain all areas of the Uniform room.

Knowledge of hotel, facilities and events.

To ensure that hotel, guest and associates are maintained in a safe and secure environment.

Provide courteous service to Omni associates.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Must have at least 1 year prior tailoring experience.

Familiarity with sewing equipment and tools.

Basic English skills are required (must be able to answer basic questions about services and amenities, give directions to associates).

Candidates must be able to multi-task in a busy environment and follow through on associate and manager requests.

Effective team player, able to provide a welcoming, helpful environment in the uniform room.

Must be detail oriented, possessing a friendly, approachable demeanor and high standard for cleanliness and organization.

Able to utilize a computer, steamer, sewing equipment.

Able to work with Management on special projects.

Ability to stand, bend and do repetitive movements for long periods of time.

Ability to frequently bend, squat, and reach overhead.

Ability to lift up to 20-25 pounds intermittently, and occasionally 50 pounds.

Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
