The historic Hotel is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and guide the continued success of one of Durango’s most iconic boutique hotels.

This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who combines strong operational expertise with a passion for guest experience, team leadership, and historic properties.

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the hotel, including operations, guest satisfaction, financial results, staff leadership, and brand standards. The GM will serve as the face of the property, ensuring exceptional service while maintaining efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services

• Lead, train, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding guest experiences

• Manage budgets, forecasting, payroll, and cost controls

• Drive occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR through effective revenue and yield management

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations

• Handle guest concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and care

• Maintain the hotel’s historic character while implementing modern hospitality best practices

• Collaborate with ownership on strategic planning and long-term goals

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of General Manager or senior hotel management experience

• Proven experience managing a boutique property  preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and revenue management

• Hands-on management style with attention to detail

• Familiarity with hotel PMS systems and hospitality technology

• Passion for hospitality and guest service excellence
