JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain the hotel in accordance with company standards by coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary in all guest rooms. Meeting rooms, buildings, and large equipment. Monitor equipment to reduce any damage for lack of maintenance. Ensure the property meets all city standards, Fire Marshall directives and health department requirements.
Prevent any hazards that can cause accidents to employees and guests. Monitor all areas including gates for proper operation to ensure safety and security of guests and employees is accomplished.
Shift requirements: Varies based off hotel’s needs, to include weekdays, weekends and holidays, if needed.
Job Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
- INSPECTION OF ALL BUILDING AND HEAVY EQUIPTMENT: Inspect all basic service Water – Gas – Electricity is working on property. Inspect all heavy equipment: boilers, Pool, Laundry, HVAC.
- INSPECTION OF ALL OPERATIONAL EQUIPTMENT: Key system, Preventing Maintenance. Operational system PMS, – POS, Internet & TV, Internet Admin
- INSPECTION OF ALL GUEST SERVICE IMPACT AREAS: Pool – Public Areas – Meeting Room – Elevators, Gym, Restaurant, Hotel Amenities.
- Prioritize all work requests ensuring handling of guest and staff problems, and inner hotel challenges. Close all open tickets daily.
- STAFF: Create all team members’ schedule and assign their daily tasks.
- “PAR”: Part automatic replenish – Create par for all part needed to maintain equipment.
- Respond to all life systems alarms. Fulfill Risk Management duties as assigned. Ensure all life systems are operational and meet all requirements. Monitor IMPACT FIRE work at the hotel. Monitor accomplishment of task and process and code invoices. Meet all requirements by Fire Marshall and monitor IMPACT FIRE company while doing any task on property.
- Process PURCHASE ORDERs as needed
- Working knowledge of all aspects of property operation and repair, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, kitchen equipment and fountain operation, plumbing and mechanical operations.
- Meet all Quality Assurance Inspection and pass the corporate standards.
- Meet all secret shopper inspection and pass the corporate standards.
- Monitor Preventative maintenance system daily and ensure employees are in complying with daily ticket resolution.
- Monitor POOL equipment to ensure it passes health department requirements.
- Monitor and audit any job done on property by third party vendors.
- Request invoices for any order of supplies, tools or equipment and code invoices.
- Good Working Knowledge of Information Technology including but not limited to, Telephone Systems, Computers, servers, printers, and software applications.
- Seek out and put forward energy saving ideas and eco-friendly programs.
- Direct supervision of Engineering staff – scheduling – productivity – Tracking Tickets resolution.
- Relentlessly train and motivate customer service employees.
- Maintain integrity of cost controls and proper maintenance of hotel assets.
- Be on call 24/7 for any emergency situations that may arise.
- Be available to do Manager on Duty weekends as required.
- Training & Development: Ensure all training and rehearsals are done based on deadlines mandated by corporate office. Ensure all documentation is placed on the Microsoft Sharepoint folder to allow corporate office to evaluate and score hotel performance.
- Department Meeting: Responsible for hosting your department monthly meeting; Provide agenda to General Manager prior the meeting and invite Human Resources manager to be present.
- Safety Meeting: Responsible to lead monthly safety meeting; Provide agenda to the general manager prior the meeting and invite Human Resources manager to be present. Lead the safety committee and is responsible to avoid any hazards or accidents due to lack of safety training for all employees.
- Disciplinary Action and Coaching – Counselling: Monitor employees’ tasks and advise as needed.
- As a member of the Executive Committee, you will be scheduled for weekly Manager on Duty service.
- Complete all incident reports as needed and upload them in the SharePoint folder for corporate to track.
- E.R.T. (EMERGENCY RESPOND TEAM) – It expected from you to be part of the ERT. You must be aware of all procedures and steps to react to any emergency in the hotel.
- HAZARTS MATERIAL DATA SHEET: As head of the safety committee, you must have a binder for each department to be aware of proper use of chemical on each area and how to provide first aid to any employee injure by chemical used.
- Inspections and Reports- complete all Daily, Weekly, Quarterly, and Annual reports
- Renewal Agreements- develop knowledge of all agreements and work with General Manager to acquire/ renew new agreements.
- Any other duties assigned by immediate manager
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years maintenance/engineering experience required in a hotel or related field.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial role required
- An ability to work safely and confidently with un-energized circuits from 120v.-480v.
- Proven organization and time management skills.
- Guest focused, optimistic, self-disciplined, self-starter.
- Problem solver, self-motivated, ability to learn more skills to better serve guests and the company. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
- Multitask-oriented by assigning duties to employees under his supervision.
- Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means.
- Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
- Must be able to read, follow directions and be flexible.
- Must be able to speak and write in a English, bilingual Spanish preferred
- Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management.
- Ability to take direction from hotel manager and accomplish task.
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
