BAKER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in culinary arts and a love for creating delicious baked goods. As a Baker, you will be responsible for producing a variety of items, including breads, pastries, and cakes, while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Your creativity and attention to detail will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional products that delight our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and cakes.
• Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
• Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, utilizing various techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to adhere to food safety standards.
• Package finished products for display or sale while ensuring proper labeling.
• Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain a positive work environment.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: 

• Proficient in food handling practices to ensure safety and hygiene.
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and cake decorating skills.
• Experience in food production within a professional kitchen setting.
• Familiarity with culinary tools, including knives and baking equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines for product availability.
• A creative mindset with the ability to innovate new recipes or improve existing ones.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Experience 

Kitchen-related experience preferred. 

Licenses or Certificates 

Basic Food Safe Certificate 

Grooming 

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per CHH standards.
