We are seeking an experienced General Manager to serve as the central leader of daily hotel operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, service-oriented, and skilled in managing both people and processes, ensuring guests enjoy a warm, seamless, and memorable stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring smooth functioning across front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services
- Manage, support, schedule, and mentor staff, fostering a positive and professional work culture
- Ensure an outstanding guest experience from reservation through checkout; handle guest issues with diplomacy and genuine hospitality
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, property presentation, and safety throughout the hotel
- Coordinate with homeowners in the rental program, maintaining positive relationships and consistent room quality
- Monitor occupancy and revenue performance, and provide daily/weekly financial reporting
- Increase revenue through rate setting, reading trends, and market analysis
- Work with ownership/board on operational planning, improvements, and long-term goals
- Work in conjunction with the Assistant GM to handle condo needs
- Engage in community relations and local tourism partnerships to strengthen the property’s visibility and reputation
- Experience with social media promotion and online presence management
- Assisting our AGM with condo management needs
- Ability to lead our team through implementing changes
- Ability to speak Spanish is appreciated but not required
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality management experience required (hotel, resort, boutique hospitality, or similar)
- Revenue generation, market analysis
- Proven leadership and staff management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; calm, confident problem-solving approach
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accountability
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, guest-facing environment
- Familiarity with hotel reservation/property management systems (or ability to learn quickly)
