Position Type: Full-Time

We are a growing short-term rental property management company in Sarasota, Florida overseeing a portfolio of vacation rentals across multiple markets. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Property Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, owner reporting, and financial accuracy across the portfolio.

• Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple short-term rental properties
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile booking platform payouts (Airbnb, Vrbo, Direct Booking Engine, etc.) to property management system and bank activity
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations including PMS to GL matching
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments and owner reimbursements
• Responsible for processing the weekly contractor and the bi-weekly staff payrolls
• Generate monthly owner statements and serve as the primary point of contact for homeowner inquiries as needed
• Track operating expenses, categorize transactions, and maintain clean audit trails
• Filing and remittance of lodging, occupancy, and sales tax across relevant jurisdictions
• Support year-end activities
• Manage occupancy and business licenses for the city, county and state
• Work closely with operations to resolve discrepancies and standardize reporting

• 2–4+ years of accounting experience; hospitality or property management experience required
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting and multi-property financial reporting
• Experience with property management systems (e.g., Streamline, Hostaway, Guesty) and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Clear communicator who can work cross-functionally with multiple teams
