The Chief Engineer oversees the operation, repair, and maintenance of all buildings, equipment, and systems on the property.

Job Duties:

1. Staff Management

• Lead and supervise daily operations, ensuring adequate staffing, service quality, and guest satisfaction.
• Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and compliance with hotel policies.
• Monitor staff appearance, conduct, and work area standards to maintain a professional environment.
• Promote teamwork, open communication, and timely resolution of guest and staff concerns.

1. Training

• Implement and facilitate new hire orientation and ongoing departmental training.
• Ensure all associates are trained on safety, emergency, and hotel operating procedures.
• Monitor and update training programs to maintain compliance with brand and hotel standards.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, development, and service excellence.

1. Administrative

• Manage departmental budgets, payroll, and expenses in line with financial goals.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and meetings to ensure operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Prepare reports, maintain logs, and communicate key updates to management.

1. Maintenance

• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all hotel systems and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and capital projects to optimize cost and quality.
• Maintain technical proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and energy systems.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Must have 5 years maintenance experience and 3 years supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a clean driving record.

Schedule:

Flexible to include day, evening, weekday, weekend, and on-call shifts.
