 Join our Food & Beverage team as a Food Service Associate at the Toasted Barrel located inside the Residence Inn by Marriott Gaslamp. This position supports both front and back of house operations, assisting with food preparation, guest service, food running, dishwashing, and bar support. 

This position may require flexible scheduling availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Sunday - Thursday shifts are typically 5:00pm - 11:00pm, Fridays & Saturdays 6:00pm - 12:00am; however, hours may vary based on business levels, events, or the operational needs of the hotel. 

Job Requirements

• Assist with basic food preparation including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients
• Support the cook with food preparation, cooking, and plating as needed
• Serve guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Run food and assist with delivering orders to guests
• Restock food, beverage, and supply items throughout service
• Assist the bartender with bar setup, stocking, garnishes, glassware, and guest service support
• Wash dishes and maintain clean work areas throughout the shift
• Comply with standards as outlined in food and dish sanitation checklists
•  Assist with closing duties, cleanup, and resetting stations for the next shift 

Job Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices preferred 
• Ability to work in both front and back of house environments
• Ability to use all dishwashing equipment provided and required in the hotel kitchen 
• Ability to understand and execute all required safety procedures 
• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement 
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
