Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter’s 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel’s 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building’s legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan – a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical / Operations
Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for both properties, from workforce planning and job postings through candidate selection and onboarding.Develop and implement recruitment strategies and plans aligned with both properties’ staffing needs, budget, Lore Group hiring standards and business objectives.Write compelling job descriptions and vacancy postings that reflect Lore Group’s employer brand and attract high-quality candidates.Screen CVs, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate interview processes with department heads and hiring managers across both properties.Build and maintain relationships with hospitality schools, training institutions, and recruitment partners to create a strong talent pipeline.Organize and participate in career fairs, recruitment events, and industry networking opportunities to enhance Riggs and Lyle’s visibility as employers of choice.Actively source and approach passive candidates for hard-to-fill positions using proactive recruitment techniques.Manage the complete onboarding journey from offer acceptance through successful completion of probation period.Coordinate all aspects of new hire orientation and onboarding programs, ensuring an annual hiring and onboarding calendar is in place for the region and new team members are set up for success from day one.Deliver Lore Groups training programs across both properties covering mandatory compliance, service standards, and skill development.Facilitate onboarding sessions, culture training, complaint handling, and other essential basic learning modules.Maintain and update learning management system (LMS) records on Workday, tracking all training attendance, completion, and compliance requirements.Develop and support a network of department trainers in delivering role-specific and on-the-job training to ensure consistent quality and standards.Financials / Business Strategy
Develop and manage annual recruitment and training budgets in collaboration with the Regional Director of People and Culture and Regional Finance Director.Work with Lore Groups Head of Talent to track and report on key recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality of hire, and retention rates.Monitor return on investment for training programs and recruitment initiatives, adjusting strategies to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.People / Culture
Assist in the administration of the annual performance management process and cycle via Workday.Provide daily support in the People & Culture office to answer employee and manager queries to enhance performance and deliver the Lore family and spirit culture to all employees.Manages process and administration duties via Workday.Coaches to enhance performance and to improve the performance of new employees when onboarding them to the group.Champion Lore Group’s culture and values of Family, Discovery, Detail, and Spirit throughout all recruitment, training, and employee touchpoints.Build strong, collaborative relationships with department heads, Regional General Manager, and hotel teams to understand their recruitment and basic training needs.Champion internal career development and progression opportunities, supporting team members in achieving their professional goals.Supports the Regional People & Culture Director and people teams in conducting the employee engagement surveys and initiatives creating a culture of continuous improvement.Provides coaching and support to managers on recruitment best practices, interviewing techniques, and performance management.Foster diversity, inclusion, and belonging throughout recruitment practices and training programs.Act as an ambassador for Lore Group’s philosophy and values, serving as a key spokesperson internally and externally.Guest Experience / Other
Ensures the Lore Core Service program is delivered to all employees as part of onboarding process and as part of refresher training to emphasize guest experience excellence and equip team members with skills to deliver memorable, personalized service.Work with department heads to ensure service recovery training and complaint handling procedures support exceptional guest satisfaction.Carry’s out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the line manager.PROFESSIONAL / PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and/or learning and development or HR generalist position, preferably in luxury or lifestyle hospitality.Strong organizational and admirative skills is critical for this role with ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines across two properties simultaneously.Proven record in end-to-end recruitment, from planning, interviewing through successful onboarding and retention.Good training delivery experience with ability to facilitate and deliver engaging learning programs that drive business results.Knowledge of quality frameworks and service standards in luxury/lifestyle hospitality settings.Strong understanding of employment law, visa/work permit processes, and HR compliance requirements.Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems for managing recruitment, onboarding, and training records.Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to engage audiences at all levels from front-line team members to senior leadership.Charismatic and energetic recruiter and trainer who delivers relevant, impactful sessions that improve business performance and employee engagement.Excellent relationship-building skills with ability to influence and partner effectively with department heads, managers, and external stakeholders.Flexibility and adaptability to work across different hotel environments and respond to dynamic business needs.Self-motivated, proactive, and entrepreneurial with ability to work independently and take initiative.Creative problem-solver who identifies innovative solutions to talent and training challenges.Strong emotional intelligence with coaching and mentoring capabilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, hotel systems, and recruitment/training technologies.Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications for location role is based. ie SHRM Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.Benefits
