Loss Prevention (Security) Officer

Overview:

Thisteam memberwill ensure the safety and tranquil stay of resort guests and employees, to enforce the policies and procedures of the hotel and to record in writing any assigned task. Prepare incident and accident reports accuratelyand in the formatspecified by the Director of Loss Prevention.

Responsibilities:

• Patrol hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect all hotel assets.  

• Answer house calls toassistboth guests and associates with respect to safety,securityand hotel operations.

• Initiate andfollow-upwith all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.  

• Assistsick/injured guests or associates ensuring all documentation, reporting and witness statements have been completed withina timelymanner.

• Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports,monitorinvestigations to theirtimelyconclusionand ensureappropriate follow-upwith guests,visitorsand employees, documenting all contacts.

• Maintainaccuraterecords while performing basic duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log,codebookand employee/guest interactions.

• Monitor/distribute visitor and vender access to the property by distributing visitor badges.

• Perform frequent bag checks for associates leaving the property.

• Escort and interact with special guests that need privacy when entering/exiting the hotel throughheartof the house areas.

• Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitiveguestor associate issues.

• Assistsupervisor or director in checking alarm systems, safety and fire alarm systems and closelymonitoringsecurity of building doors, service areas, deliveryareasand grounds.

• Assisthotel management in emergency situations by knowing all hotel safety procedures and leading/directing guests and associates to safety.

• Record,reportand correct any unsafe conditions while patrolling hotel property.

• Maintainprofessionalattitude and appearance.

• Performa any other duties as required by management

Qualifications:

• Mustbe able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.

• Available for AM & PM shifts

• Mustbe able to communicate effectively by telephone, email,radioand reporting.  

• Musthave basic computer knowledge.

• Must be able to reach various areas of the hotel/resort at a rapid pace if necessary.

• FirstAid/CPR Certification is preferred.

• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.

• Must havevaliddriver'slicense inwith a driving record in good standing. 

• Must be able toworka flexible schedule including day, evening, overnight shifts,weekendsand holidays.

Rate per hour starts at $32.42 er hour and increases to $33.08 after 90 days
