Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager is a key member of the hotel’s leadership team and a direct partner to the General Manager in the successful launch and ongoing operation of the hotel. This role requires a hands-on, service-driven leader who can support daily operations, lead the Front Desk team, assist other departments as needed, uphold brand standards, and help deliver an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is organized, operationally strong, proactive, and capable of leading in a fast-paced hotel environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities
• Support the General Manager with pre-opening planning, setup, and operational readiness.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Coordinate with department leaders, vendors, and outside partners to support opening timelines.
• Help implement brand standards, hotel procedures, and service expectations across departments.
• Support setup of operational systems, supplies, office organization, and opening processes.

Core Responsibilities (Post-Opening)
• Support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the hotel and ensuring brand standards are consistently met.
• Oversee and support Front Desk operations while providing leadership across housekeeping, breakfast, laundry, public areas, and other operational departments as needed.
• Help drive guest satisfaction, service recovery, and a positive overall guest experience.
• Monitor hotel performance, productivity, cleanliness, service standards, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management of team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and brand requirements.
• Support payroll review, labor control, inventories, ordering, and cost management.
• Prepare reports, track operational priorities, and follow up on key initiatives and deadlines.
• Step in as the acting leader in the absence of the General Manager when needed.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and a service-focused culture throughout the hotel.

• Hotel operations run efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with brand standards.
• Guest satisfaction and service scores reflect a strong, consistent guest experience.
• The Front Desk team and other departments are supported, coached, and held accountable.
• Labor, expenses, and operational priorities are managed effectively.
• Communication across departments is clear, timely, and solutions-focused.
• The hotel maintains a clean, organized, and well-run operation with strong team morale.

Candidate Profile
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead the Front Desk team and support cross-functional hotel operations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Service-driven mindset with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
• Professional, dependable, and able to exercise good judgment and discretion.
• Previous hotel leadership experience required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hotel leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Front Office experience strongly preferred.
• Branded hotel experience preferred; IHG experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel operating systems preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as business demands require.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and remain active throughout the hotel as needed.
