Opening in Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a Natural Spring inspired full-service spa and entertainment pedestrian plaza featuring high-end shopping, amphitheater, charter boat docking and beautiful promenade. The new iconic landmark offers unforgettable views of the Atlantic paired with unrivalled convenience and intelligently designed meeting spaces. The hotel will be directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, immediately adjacent to Port Everglades cruise terminal and less than two miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

This role will support the Engineering management and provide technical assistance throughout the engineering department. Working as a key member of our team, we expect that our chosen individual will be hands-on, highly organized, and highly motivated. This role will be critical to ensuring proper guest satisfaction and quick resolution for any maintenance issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist engineering management with preventative maintenance, repairs, scheduling and the assignment of projects and other related tasks.
• Assist engineering management with the procurement of supplies.
• Ensure CARE and PRP assignments are properly completed, inspect rooms after work is completed.
• Manage Synergy application daily, update as needed.
• Review work orders and assign work by priorities.
• Maintain inventories of all maintenance supplies.
• Respond to guest and client requests.
• Work with the Engineering staff and coordinate their activities.
• Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
• Must be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures.
• Must be familiar with BMS, lighting system and fire panel operation.
• Must be able to test emergency generator and fire pump.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience within an upscale or convention hotel preferred.
• CPO certification required, additional licenses preferred.
• Prior leadership experience with a team of 5 or more is preferred.
• Must have technical knowledge of various hand and power tools.
• Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests.
• Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment and Swimming Pool knowledge is required.
• Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
• Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions.
• May be asked to be part of “ride-out” crew during severe weather events
• Must be able to work at heights, using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
