Who you will be working with

Our company is a local leader in hospitality management, dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences through innovative hotel operations. 

We are seeking a General Manager to join our dynamic team.  In this role, you will oversee daily operations and ensure that our guests receive outstanding service.  You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of hospitality while operating efficiently and conscientiously. 

What you will be doing

• Lead your team. Use your behavior and self-presentation to set an example for your staff of your expectations for their performance.
• Practice open communication with ownership.
• Maintain the quality of service at the hotel by supervising the training of employees and by scheduling coaching and co-working to improve performance.
• Work with your department heads to schedule shifts, lead regular meetings, and perform disciplinary/praise actions for staff.  Supervise and ensure the quality of service of all departments. Review performance with staff regularly.
• Create a working knowledge of all hotel positions so that you can step in when necessary.
• Analyze guest responses, hotel data, and inventory data to operate efficiently and compose reports for ownership.
• Solve issues with critical thinking, and with a calm and even temper.
• Follow up on all issues and ensure they are resolved.  Be proactive and forward thinking to prepare for issues or to provide superior guest service.
• Maintain employee personnel files and keep them up to date.  Ensure employees complete onboarding and ongoing training. Ensure milestones are met and noted areas of improvement progress.
• Ensure your property is always in compliance with brand standards and with ownership standards.
• Maintain accounts payable with owed status as current.
• Rotating on call weekends.
• Maintain proper security protocols and procedures.

Experience Requirements:

• Previous hotel management experience.
• Great organization skills
• Experience with computers, and some competence in programs like Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to use proper grammar and spelling.
