Job DetailsJob Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85250Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 SalaryJob Shift: DayJob Purpose: This position is responsible for all financial transactions and the oversight of the hotel's general ledger operations and supports the hotel Finance Team. Additionally, this person will be responsible for efficiently running the Accounting department in line with DDC standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month-end reports and reconciliations Review preliminary financial statements. Lead the monthly financial reviews on property, analyze the information and present the reports. Supervise Accounting staff including coaching and counseling associates to reflect hotel service standards and procedures, interviewing, training, conducting one on one associate and monthly Accounting meetings, reviewing and evaluating the performance of staff. Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting and cash management, and analyzing financial data. Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings and full P&L responsibility. Assist with managing and ensuring SOX compliance. Completing the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance. Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement. Assist General Manager with special reporting and analysis projects. Present financial data to ownership group and to DDC Home office monthly/ quarterly. Fully and solely responsible for hotel accounting compliance (procedures, results, reporting) as mandated by State and Federal government. Other duties as assigned. Job Skills: Compute and record numbers correctly. Must have excellent organizational, administrative, problem-solving skills and ability to analyze financial data. Use eyes, hands, and fingers at the same time to enter figures in books and forms, or to operate a calculator or personal computer. Prior MICROS, Hotel Effectiveness, Paycom, Property Management Systems (Pep, etc.). Must be an advanced user of Microsoft products, to include, Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Powerpoint, etc. Strong ability to present data to ownership and receive feedback. Read and copy large quantities of numbers without error. Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line. Follow procedures for keeping records and compute and record number correctly. Perform work that is routine and detailed. Physical Requirements: Close and distance vision. Frequent sitting with some walking and standing. Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs. Working Conditions: Continually works in normal office conditions and in close proximity to others. QualificationsEducation: Accounting/Finance degree preferred Experience: 5 years or more of progressive Accounting experience, preferably in a hotel/resort supervising multiple accounting team members. Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English. Licenses/Certifications: N/A
