Think of The Local as your New York home.  We’re your best friend in New York but you get to sleep in stylish and clean bunk rooms instead of on our couch.  Our fridge is always stocked, we always know what’s happening, and we’ve been waiting all year for your visit.  We’re the newcomers to the edgy LIC neighborhood in Queens.  Our skyline views are the best and we’re just a couple of subway stops from Manhattan and Brooklyn.  Our neighbors are artists, gymrats, actors, and mechanics.  The city never sleeps but sometimes we like to.

Opened in 2014, The Local NY is an upscale hostel that operates with the following core principles –affordability, cleanliness, accessibility, safety and security, excellent customer service, and creative and contextual design. The Local sleeps 146 guests in 37 guest rooms. Most rooms are 4-bed shared dormitories with private bathrooms. The Local has generous common space including a café, bar, event space and rooftop deck. The café/bar operates as a coffee shop by morning and a full bar in the afternoon/evening. The Local is a closely-held, locally-owned business. You’ll work directly with the owners who are engaged in the business and who will provide support and straight-forward guidance.
