The Cook comprehends the food and beverage menus and cooks allfood to high quality and presentation standards. RESPONSIBILITIESConsistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance withapplicable laws and regulations. Contribute to the day-to-day culinary operation for all banquet functions, to include efficientand effective food production. Perform all necessary tasks of a banquet cook according to hotel operating procedures toinclude but no limited to food prep, food production, plate up, kitchen and food equipmentcleaning.Responsible for the upkeep, safety and cleanliness in food preparation areas, refrigeration andstorage areas.Work with Restaurant Chef to plan and implement menu development. Produce current andcreative dishes that are relevant with hotel concepts. Responsible to ensure that the correct standards are being maintained. Responsible for ensuringa high food quality and presentation.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily forhealth department and Ecosure inspections. QUALIFICATIONS:Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, workingknowledge of the hospitality business.Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events,including nights, weekends, and holidays. A minimum of relevant cooking experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple prioritieswhile maintaining composure.Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.Serve Safe certified.
