Job Description

      

The Recruiter is responsible for the recruitment   and hiring of employees for the company’s overnight river cruise vessels. The   Recruiter will be responsible for networking with applicable   schools/universities, culinary institutes, hotels, other hospitality   programs, maritime programs, etc. in an effort to continue the spread of   knowledge about our company, as well as post jobs, recruit, interview and   hire new employees. A successful candidate for this role shall possess strong   verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to shift gears at a   moment's notice and enjoy the challenges of both ongoing “change” and helping   to build and maintain a great organization of talented individuals. The   Recruiter is a front line/go-to resource for new candidates interested in   learning more about coming to work for our organization.


 · Foster teamwork and maintain a sense of community within and across the division and department; cultivate a network of relationships inside and outside the organization

· Perform full life cycle recruiting including sourcing, pre-screening, face to face interviews, selection of candidates, verbal offers of employment, reference checks and other required onboarding activities.

· Post job openings online and advertise accordingly, within prescribed budget

· Interview candidates within the framework of the position specification; possess strong ability to screen, interview and prepare a candidate within an appropriate and consistent timeline

· Proactively build a robust pipeline of diverse talent, including active and passive candidate sourcing, cold calling and internet-based sourcing

· Develop creative recruiting sourcing strategies and proactively build a robust pipeline of diverse talent, including active and passive candidate sourcing, cold calling and internet-based sourcing

· Build and maintain network of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management

· Participate in industry specific recruiting events, associations and other relevant networking organizations; participate in special projects/recruiting initiatives, including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources of talent and identification of top performers for senior-level openings as they may arise

· Aggressively manage requisitions and anticipate department needs within each division to deliver high quality talent; remain in constant communication with managers, Recruitment & Hiring Manager and VP HR to stay “in the know

· Maintain equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs under direction of the Vessel HR Director and VP HR

· Provide reports and requested information related to recruiting metrics as requested

· Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other applicable field required – or equivalent of experience 

Skills & Abilities:

· Experience with applicant tracking systems – preferably Silkroad Recruiting – must be proficient w/ technology, learn systems quickly and have an extreme eye for detail

· Prior experience with Microsoft – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment

· Ability to multi-task, i.e. manage multiple priorities with similar deadlines

· Ability to work with a sense of urgency and efficiency

· Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly changing environment

· Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized

· Must be willing to accept regular changes of direction in work and priorities with a positive attitude

· Must be a proactive thinker and constantly think ahead to better serve our customers, both internal and external

Experience:

· Minimum of three years of experience in similar role; experience in human resources role preferred

· Travel/tourism, hospitality and/or cruise industry experience strongly desired

· Knowledge of maritime industry preferred

Other: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and have, as well as maintain, a clear driving record.
  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing
