Job Description

The ice creamologist is responsible for serving up exclusive ice cream creations and delicious shareables in an interactive parlor environment, while creating a one of a kind experience for every person who walks in the door.

Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):
  • Prepare ice cream creations and other products following the ice cream parlor standards and procedures quickly and accurately.*
  • Stock and execute proper rotation of products and complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of chill area.*
  • Work within all Department of Agriculture guidelines to ensure proper food safety.*
  • Work as a "team" member to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness and value to each customer.*
  • Maintain knowledge about all products/menu to talk about the ice cream parlors offerings. Answer questions and educate the guests on the unique creations available.*
  • Clean work area, organize and stock needed items to proactively serve our guests.*
  • Break down and clean chill area thoroughly at the end of every day as assigned by a manager or shift leader.*
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • 16 years of age or older on date of applying

Additional Qualifications:
  • Preferred industry experience

ANDREW HELMERVICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCESAndy was named Vice President, Human Resources in January 2014. Andy began his career with the company in 1984 at Hersheypark and held various positions in the Foods Department at the Park over the next eight years. In 1992, he began his management career as Food Service Personnel Coordinator. Throughout his more than 20-year career with the company, Andy has held a variety of positions, including Manager Compensation/HRIS and Assistant General Manager of the Entertainment Complex. Prior to becoming the company's Vice President, Human Resources, Andy served as Managing Director of Human Resources.
JOHN K. LAWNPRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERJohn was appointed a Director of the company in June 2017. John was elected Chief Executive Officer in June 2017 after serving as President since September 2016. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and held other leadership positions in the Entertainment division, including Director of Food & Beverage and Assistant General Manager of Hersheypark®. Prior to joining the company, John worked with clients at Yankee Stadium, FedEx Field, and the Men's US Open Championships, as well as at other sporting venues and premier hospitality events throughout the country. John is a member of the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). He serves on the boards of both the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
