Job Description

The Opportunity: EVEN Hotel & Convention Center is looking for a dynamic, talented, client-centric Hotel Sales Manager that has a proven track record of success in soliciting and booking both transient and group business. This candidate must implement new and successful strategies to achieve hotel profitability through sales revenue generation as well as solidify and preserve positive client relationships for future repeat booking.

The Property: Discover the best at the EVEN Hotel & Tinley Park Convention Center near Chicago. This property, having just completed a 12Million dollar renovation is the newest addition to the EVEN brand. We pride ourselves on being the healthy alternative to all other marketplace hotels. We offer wellness-minded travelers a restful sleep, work out equipment in all guestrooms, healthy food options, and a work out room that is triple the size of regular hotels. 

Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, minimum 3 years Sales experience preferably in the Hospitality industry.

Reports to: Director of Sales & Convention Services

Essential Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts to maximize room revenue and meet & exceed goals

• Implementing successful strategies to achieve hotel profitability through revenue generation

• Develop a sales strategy by analyzing historical, current, and future hotel market trends and create selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue to meet & exceed goals

• Regularly review and stay atop with assigned market segments

• Develop and enhance relationships with key businesses and individual contacts to maintain and increase market share

• Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide group history to ensure future and current quality service and enhance future proposals

• Performs all other related duties, projects and reports as assigned by Director


Job Requirements

 Required skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to function well in a high-paced/stressful

• Must work well independently with minimum supervision

• Must have command of the English language, both oral and written

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs for extended periods of time/frequently in order to interact with clients and staff both inside and outside of the hotel.

• Must be able to work flexible and extended hours

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand fluent English

• Must have 20/20 vision either with or without corrective lenses

• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

• Must be able to move long distances for outside sales calls and for giving facility site tours to prospective clients

Behavioral Competencies:

• Must have excellent oral communication skills for ongoing client, department head, and employee communication

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend written English communication

• Must be adept at numerical calculations and utilizing a calculator/adding machine

• Must be adept at typing, and proficient in the use of various required software programs

• Must have excellent attention to details, deadlines, and persistent follow-up skills

• Must possess excellent problem resolution skills and ability to “think on one’s feet

• Foster team work approach with supporting departments

• Multi-tasking and ability to change priorities at a moment’s notice

• Fast-paced at times
